Hd formatting

i cant use the hd on my laptop so right now im on someone elses laptop trying to get help

hey but ill tell you later why i cant use the hd on my laptop, half because theirs an error when i turn it on

download a windows98 bootdisk from www.bootdisk.com and put it on a floppy. Boot with the floppy and type format c: or format d: depending on the driveletter your 15g HD is using

he said i didn't have a floppy drive i thought, so your gonna use your friends hdd instead of your old one cos it is broke? is that about right? and its on a laptop. you will need an OS tho so what os u gonna put on it, after all even tho it boots on one laptop but not the other if u format it it will need an os on it

lol ya i dont have a floppy drive on my sisters laptop and the hd does work on my sisters but i cant access the hd through my laptop because theirs an error message when you turn it on. so basically im trying to formatt it on my sisters laptop without a floppy drive. and i dont have a xp cd nor floppy.
