Having trouble installing SATA HD on new installation

can someone give me instruction on how i would setup the harddrive.Its a new build and i was going to install win xp pro.Thanks

If it has SP1 or SP2 with it you don't have to do anything different.

You gotta hit F6 at the beginning of the windows installation when it boots off the screen and the screen turns blue...at the bottom it'll say "Press F6 to install SCSI/RAID drivers" so you need to do so...it goes quick so be paying attention....you will need the floppy that came with the mobo or go to the mobo manufacturers site, download the SATA drivers, and put them on a floppy because windows will ask you to load the drivers from there then install windows like normal
