Hardware problem with xircom card

I hope someone can help me. I am trying to put a xircom 10/100 ethernet card into a Toshiba laptop so I can network with my desk top. The problem is I cannot get the laptop to recognise the card, net alone put any drivers on. Any clues.

Try to put the card into another laptop and see if it works. (to see if the card is good or not)

Try to put another card into your pcmcia slot and see if the o/s see's it (to see if your pci slot is bad)

Then Post results.
