My dad's computer is a dell about 4 years old now. in the past week he has gotten this error message about 5 times.
*imagine blue screen of death, but it says the following*
Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error
The System has halted
After the computer is restarted, it works fine for a while, until it happens again.
The only modifications that have been done to it was replacing the stock 4500rpm 20 gig with a 7200rpm 80 gig.
any ideas? the last thing i want to do is call dell support...
