hard drive tester

I need some help. I just bought a large lot of hard drives and I want to test them to see if they are working or not, but I use a laptop and cannot hook them up to test them...is there any product I can buy to test them?? The hard drives range in size from 1 to 40 GB. Any help would be appreciated.

find a freind with a PC

Hook them up one at a time, and run chkdisk from a win98 boot disk.

Can't think of any "tester".
