Hard Drive Stuttering

thanks I already did it on the xp cd boot

I pressed the f6

and installed from floppy

Did that work okay for you? I copied the files onto a floppy before but when I tried installing them during the XP install using F6, it came back that it could not find a relevant file. I just put my drive on an IDE channel, installed XP then installed the driver straight from CD in Device Manager before moving the drive back onto the Promise controller.

yes it work for me.

Make sure you copy the TXTSETUP.OEM file to the floppy with read me file, the winxp file and the ultra file

I had that same problem when I first tried install the drivers from the f6 option

it looks for the TXTSETUP.OEM file first
