Something very strange happened today. I just happened to look to see what mode my hard drive is operating in (It's always been UDMA 6), but today, it's on UDMA 5, yet it still says that UDMA 6 is supported. I've done everything I can imagine to get it back into UDMA 6 but nothing is working.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling all of the IDE channels (including the Primary, Secondary and the UDMA controller). I've also done the same to the drivers for the hard drive, but nothing has worked. The really strange thing about this, is that it was working in UDMA 6 yesterday and I can't imagine anything I've done to make it go to UDMA 5. The BIOS also indicates that it UDMA 6 is possible. Seems to have a mind of it's own. Well, I just thought I'd get your ideas on how to fix it...maybe some kind of registry edit?...anything would help...Thanks!
