hard drive reformating

my drive will not reformat {imposible to erase partion and dos}with fdisk running 98 se on a 8.5 g drive

If you can get your hands on a Windows 98 boot disk (www.bootdisk.com) You can just use it to boot into your PC, THEN use FDISK to format your drive.

If you get crap when you try to format, you can always delete the partitions, recreate them THEN, format.

if that doesn't work use BCwipe or Gdisk.exe and do a 1 pass DoD 5200.28-STD wipe of the hard disk. it will clear all partition info and write random garbage to the disk. download the trial and put the EXE on a floppy or CD and run it from DOS.
