Hard Drive problems

I recently purchased a 40 gig hard drive to upgrade from my puny 20 gig. I used a program called casper xp to clone my old drive onto the new one, but it wouldnt allow me to resize the partition (as it is a trial).

So I thought no problem I'll just use partition magic afterwards. But now after resizing it the partition wont go over 32000 whereas it was 399xx previously. Ive tried reformatting without sucess and I tried lowering the cluster sizes with no sucess either.

Can anyone help?

FAT 32 or ntfs?

Fat 32, it was orginally formated as ntfs when I purchased it from ebay.

Heres a screenshot of the cluster settings in partition magic, does anyone know if this is relevant? As it says there is wasted space.

Can anyone help me regain my lost 8 gigs ??
