Default Hard Drive Problem in BIOS and everywhere else

Okay i think i know what i did wrong, i just dont know how to fix it.

i was going through the winxp setup to reinstall winxp on the laptop. for some reason the laptop would not let me so i took an adapter, hooked it up to the desktop computer and it saw the drive. so i started the winxp setup again and while it was formatting, i though of a better way and i just turned the computer off.

now the BIOS cannot see the hard drive and windows cannot see the hard drive. its almost as if the drive is totally not able to be seen now.

what do i do!? please help!
