Hard Drive Problem

I just purchased a new computer, and I'd like to transfer a HD from my old computer into my new one. But the plug ins on the back are different. On the old one, you would plug in a long plastic strip and a clear plug in to power it. On the new one, it's a small, very thin, plug in and thats it, nothing else. Any suggestions?

you probably bought a SATA hdd and your old one was IDE, so unless you have SATA connectors on you motherboard you will likely need a different hdd, as i'm not sure adapters exist, but i'll look into it

Alright, well before I do that, I have a question. My new computer is the one that only uses SATA, and I have a IDE Hard drive. Would getting a IDE to SATA adapter be worth it?

For transfering your files yes. For general usage no.

Alright then let me plan this all out, I would buy the adapter, Hook it up long enough to transfer all the files, then sell the HDD to buy a new SATA one?
