Can anyone help me working out what hard drive to get? Will some IDE drives work in my machine or do I have to get a certain type? I am going to be putting into the following machine http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/10492_div/10492_div.HTML

I am thinking of putting in this drive. http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/components/harddiskdrives/internalide/productView.htm?quicklinx=2G00
Whichis the Barracuda7200.7+ 160GB UDMA100. I am just not sure if they are compatible.

Cheers for the help.

My motherboard does have IDE connectors. Does that mean it can use IDE drives?

I am am shying away from SCSI due to the cost and also because the drive size is smaller.

The MAP is a 10,000 RPM and the MAS is a 15,000 RPM.

You can use IDE if you have it. I would go with IDE. Make sure you get a drive with at least 7,200rpm and a 8mb cache.
If you do alot of video editing or use your computer as a file server go with SCSI.
