Hard Drive help

Can anyone help me working out what hard drive to get? Will some IDE drives work in my machine or do I have to get a certain type? I am going to be putting into the following machine http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/q...10492_div.HTML

I am thinking of putting in this drive. http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/comp...quicklinx=2G00
Whichis the Barracuda7200.7+ 160GB UDMA100. I am just not sure if they are compatible.

Cheers for the help.

You cannot use that HD with your motherboard. I was looking at your specs and it didnt see anywhere that it said it supported IDE so i would go with SCSI it is faster but more expensive.

Here is an example of what you need.

My motherboard does have IDE connectors. Does that mean it can use IDE drives?

I am am shying away from SCSI due to the cost and also because the drive size is smaller.

Just so I can learn. Can you tell me the difference between the MAP3367NP and the MAS3367NP.

the following link shows what apperes to be two drives the same but look at the price difference (also look at the price difference in the UK to the link you showed me!)

The MAP is a 10,000 RPM and the MAS is a 15,000 RPM.

You can use IDE if you have it. I would go with IDE. Make sure you get a drive with at least 7,200rpm and a 8mb cache.
If you do alot of video editing or use your computer as a file server go with SCSI.
