Hi All
I am in the need of a new hard drive but not sure which one to choose
I've heard a lot about Samsung F3 Spinpoint and the WD Caviar Black
And the Seagate Barracuda, like I said I've heard a lot good and bad things about these 3 drive. I don't do gaming but need that my computer boot
up windows fast and run video programs decently.

My system is configured as follow:
Asus M5A88-M Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
Memory : 8 GB Crucial DDR-3 - 1333

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I would go in this order...

WD Black
Samsung F3 (if the drive is larger than 1TB)
Seagate Barracuda

The WD Black has a five year warranty and plenty of speed. The F3 can actually be faster than the Black but only on the big drives. The Barracuda is still a good drive but Seagate's quality slid once they acquired Maxtor (dropped from five year to three year warranty).

I'm trying to decide between WD And Samsung F3 but not sure yet many people say
WD and many people say Samsung, talking about speed which one is faster ?
And talking about reliability which one will last longer ? I know it will depend on how to use it under which conditions but I would like to hear your thoughts .
Thanks Trotter for your comment.

I still have my WD 20GB PATA from back in 95.

But, I had both a WD and a Seagate die on me. Never owned a Samsung. Like I and Trotter says, WD is our #1

Seagate is mine. Barracuda 7200.12's are pretty amazing. Speed-wise they're right up with the F3 and Black, no noise, and like I've said before I buy them for work/home/everywhere and I've only had 2 fail on me. One of which was due to a bad dock, the other was DOA.
