hard disk question

Hi guys,

I have a question about my hard disk behavior:

If I shut down my PC my hard disk makes a "click" inside her case like the reading head etc. touch against something like the inside wall of the case, I don't know.

Why my harddisk do such a "click" noise. Is it normally?

My harddisk is a Samsung Spinpoint 80 GB and totally new?

Might just be the heads parking which would be normal. I have an 80gig maxtor thats noisy like that. If the heads were really hitting the side I dont believe it would last this long.

Just make sure to back up your important data every now and then.

Yes, the noise you hear is the read/write head reaching the end of it's travel as it parks.
