Default Hard disk ! im gonna kill it!!

hi all
im installing a new main board with a 40gb hard disk with xp on,all plugged in and ok,1 beep but the bios doesnt recognise the IDE at all so ive got no CD Roms and the hrd disk is not rcognised,can anyone point me in the right direction,i thought it auto dtected but ive checked bios and it cant find the disk??????

Have you set the jumpers on the drive correctly?

its ok have sorted it now

IDE cable was at fault
