Default Halo PC Demo Error

I wanna play the halo pc demo, but I get this error:
A problem occured initializing Direct3D. Hardware acceleration may be disabled, please run DXDIAG.

So I run DXDIAG and it doesn't let me do anything concerning hardware acceleration. How do I get direct3d going?

Cause you seem to act like you know exactly how it performs
