I am planning to buy a new graphics card soon because most games are either chugging or need pixel shading.

So simply put, I want to buy a card that'll play these games smoothly on good settings (1024x768 etc.)

Battlefield Vietnam/1942
Morrowind
Deux Ex 2
X2 The Threat

I don't want to spend too much money, maybe up to UK$100-150

I currently own a g-force4mx440Se

Also, should if you are giving a good website link, make sure they deliver to the UK.

Well, I think the 9800 Pro is a litle bit more expensive. If you wanna try looking at an official supplier of video cards, here's something I found that's pretty nice for $150.

the 5700 or ati 9600pro would play those well at 1024x768.

don't get the fx 5700 le, i have that one and my dad wishes he would have waited to buy a diff one. if it says le for nVidia or le for ati...avoid at all costs. they are underclocked there for they are cheaper. how much is 150uk dollars translated to us? i say, if you can spring for it, the 9800 pro is the best IMHO for the level of gaming you'll be doing.

the 5700Ultra will suit you well, it runs farcry on the highest detail and resolution at 1280x1024 flawlessly on my friends computer, altho he does have an XP3200+ and a gig of PC3200 ram...

I have looked round, and decided I should try and go for the 9800 pro, I have found this site with a good price, but it's a "connect3d", is there any difference?

I've also looked at newegg.com, good prices but do not deliver outside the US, is there a company that'll send goods to the UK from Newegg?

i would say 256mb 9600XT/128mb/256mb 9800 Pro, would do you fine!

well yeah if u wanna spend a little less buy a 9800 no pro if you can find 1 then soft mod (flash the bios) it to a 9800 Pro
