Default Graphics Card not working

I'Ve recently replaced a geforce MX440 with an ARI Radeon 9550. It boots and shows the post screen and the initial windows loading screen up but when the pc actually boots into windows the monitor goes blank and the monitor LED flashes. Could anyone suggest how i could fix this problem? I've tried booting into safe mode but the same thing happens. I've reinstalled the geforce card and gone into device manager to uninstall the drivers but still no go. Thanks in advance

Update to current drivers, Catalyst 5.7, or plug the monitor into the other port. I know the 9550 comes with a DVI-I and a VGA. Try them both. You could also check your BIOS and make sure it is set to read from the 9550 if you have Integrated video on that MoBo.
