Graphics card freezing?

i have an ATI Radeon 9200SE. anyways, sometimes when playing a game(for awhile), the game freezes. and that damn annoying "VPU Recover has reset your graphics card because it was not responding to normal graphics card commands."(or something along those lines) comes up. so, annoyed, i shut vpu recover off. now, whats the problem? is my card overheating? someone recommended me to buy this fan from newegg. if i paid for this graphics card, why is ati ripping me off giving me a card that overheats due to a crappy fan?

what games does it freeze in? What does "reseting your graphics card" do?

I have never heard of an ATI card overheating...

Try increasing the air flow in the case.You can use a fan from 1 of those Hard Drive Cooler kits that have 2 fans .Take 1 off and Splice it in to replace the original.I did this on my AIW 9700 Pro

It wouldent hurt to buy that fan considering its only 9 bucks. But i know the 9200 is alittle outdated so it might be the games you are playing you never know these days
