hmmm... you're right, a 5200 does outperform a 9600 se
I always thought there wouldn't be a lot of difference between the se's and pro's, and since the pro's perform pretty well.... you know....

in that case I say, yes 9600 se's are ****

Even though they are cheap, they have bad price/performance.

Almost any SE video card is going to be crap.
Just look at the specs. Most SE video cards have a gimped memory bus size and will perform much like a previous-gen card, if not worse. I've seen a few LE cards that looked promising, but i would still suggest against it.
For that generation of cards, I suggest something ATi, in the 96-9800 range. Anything else won't be able to keep up.
NZXT Guardian Case with Thermaltake PurePower 420w
FIC AU13 motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 333FSB (Barton) with Thermaltake Silent Boost HSF
WDC 80Gb 8Mb cache 7200rpm
512Mb Kingston Dual-channel PC3200
MCP-T SoundStorm audio (integrated)
ATi Radeon 9800 Pro (it owned, until x800 and 6800)
Logitech Z-680 5.1 speaker system (integrated Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS, Pro Logic II decoding)
Logitech Cordless Elite Duo keyboard & mouse
Saitek Cyborg Evo joystick
Windows XP Pro SP1 (dont. install. SP2.)
