graphics card

ok now some of you may remember me from the other day asking about graphics cards with tv-in on them..

well i done some poking around and mulling over what type of processer i'm gonna get and decided i'm gonna get an AMD athlon64 3400
so now all i need to know is what graphics card would suit me best?
for gaming.. (i dont wanna spend stupid amounts on it)
and it doesnt need tv-in on it as i'm gonna go with what you lot suggested last time and get a sep card for it

What would you consiter "stupid amounts"? this week at CompUSA you can get a PNY Geforce 6800 for $200 after a $30 Mail in rebate, also for around $200 there is the Geforce 6600GT (several brands), atm they are all over $200 for the 6600GT, but the prices SHOULD drop to $200 once the cards are more available.

What is your price range. If you are wanting mid-range, I would suggest a 6600GT or an X700XT. If money is no object, get a 6800GT.
