Question The GPU Memory question?

I'm planning to buy a new PC. I also must say I am a complete novice at this kinda h/w shopping. I will use it especially for applications such as Maya, 3ds max, Photoshop etc etc. And yes, a bit of gaming also. I'm confused. What GPU shud I go for? A 128 MB one or a 256 MB one? I can either afford the latest 128 MB card or the second best 256 MB card. Which should I go for? I mean what's the difference.

I think you'll be fine with a 128. I do a lot of design work (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc) and am fine with a 64 MB card. For 3D apps, you'll see benefits with 128, but in my opinion a 256 card isn't worth it unless you're a hardcore gamer.

The advantage of 256mb over 128mb is rather slim, not worth it, but what cards are you looking at?
