What would you consider to be a nice, cool, healthy temp. for a 1.6GHz P4?

Is the front side bus 400MHz?

Thanks!

Any idea why my bios is not recognizing fans spinning (do I need to have special kinds of fans?) Both the system and CPU fan show 0 RPM. Also, my CPU temp is upwards 70 degrees Centigrade.

Any help would help!
Thanks
Jon

Fans with three cables to your MOBO have a RPM meter on them.
70 degrees, if that is celsius than your having a cooling problem, make sure there is a proper airflow in your case, that cpu fan is spinning at all and see if the cpu is properly connected to the cooler and has some paste between them.

I got a new heatsink/fan today. As always, you were all correct!
It is now idling at 40 degrees.

Beautiful!

The max. operating temperature of the P4 is within the range of 66-78ºC, depending on the core revision and model. The older, Willamette (especially the earlier Socket 423 models) have a higher peak point. Then, or course, you have to worry about the "issue" of processor-throttling when the overheat occurs.

For some reason mine is running at 70% to in my bios and in the easytune utillity that came with my motherboard.....

Could it be Celsius? Or am I near meltdown?
