Default good portable but powerful laptop

my sister is going back to college, and the old laptop she has doesnt really cut it anymore. . . so shes looking for a portable laptop (around less than 5 lbs) with:

at least 1400x1050 resolution
dvd+rw drive
the drive has to be modular to fit a second battery (and the first also has to be long lasting)
at least 32 (64 would be great) mb
pentium m with centrino at least 1.8GHz
and most of all . . . QUIET

anyone know of any good laptops that are like that?

well, she wants a centrino processor

the main factors are :

high resolutions (4:3, then at least 1400x1050; 16:10, then at least 1680x1050)
QUIET
pentium M w/ centrino
modular optical drive to put an extra battery on long flights

Sony makes some good stuff. Go by a local CompUSA and check it out there.

thats where you're wrong . . .

powerbooks are only G4 right now . . . need a comp in the next 2 weeks . . .

powerbooks have only 2-3 1/2 hour batteries, and dont allow taking out the superdrive for another battery

the resolution is only upto 1440x900 on the 17"

lets get this straight . . . sony makes EXPENSIVE stuff . . . 1GB of ram DOES NOT cost $1100!

basically, need a cross between HP (good resolution and stuff) and Dell (quiet and modular bay)
