Default good mouse gone bad

Thd mouse is working well, and suddenly it moves fast and randomly to any corner of the screen, and keeps there until I lift it and start moving it again. When it get there it displays F12.....
new mouse=yes
OS=XP sp2
I found something about "sleep corner" but can not find how to disable if there is a sleep corner.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Sounds like a conflict.

Try going into the System Configuration Utility (run--> msconfig--> startup tab) and getting rid of everything except your antivirus and your firewall, and anything you have to have (like broadband drivers and such). Click Apply, then restart.

You may also want to check the sensitivity settings for your mouse. Does it cry easily? LOL. Really, go Control Panel--> Mouse. Click through the tabs and look at your settings. Set them to what you need.
