good lcd monitor

im looking for a good lcd monitor (at least 17") with a dvi input

also, whats a good contrast ratio, brightness and response time?

15ms or lower on response time for gaming. Are you gaming? If you are, you would be better off getting a good 19" or 21" CRT unless you have a fortune to spend on a gaming LCD.

yea i have a 21 inch CRT flat screen. I love it. Compared to my friends 19 inch LCD screen.. its much better quality.

With the refreash rate. the LCD screens arnt as quick as the CRT so if you want to play the latest games stick to a CRT. A few reviews I have read show that the SONY SDM-X73 17-inch LCD is a very good screen. Its a 1280 x 1024 at 75 hertz screen with DVI and 2 x VGA inputs. But the latest Viewsonic 18" LCD is real good too, I have forgotten the product number but I will find it for you.

oh ok . . .

i found a good 19" lcd at a local computer store with a 12ms refresh rate - its about $500

i think thats a good deal, considering that a crt would eat up all the space (or lack thereof) on my desk
