Default Going to sleep?

When my friend turns on his new Compaq Presario S4000T, the moniter says going to sleep and the LED on the moniter turns yellow. The toewr stays on but nothing from there. Just a black screen. Anyone know wats wrong here?

maybe the computer went into hibernation while it was asleep. when you turned it on the last state it was in was restored (sleeping). try to wake it up. i think enter, esc, or alt+ctrl+delete will wake it up

you can change it in your Control Panel settings to set it if it sleeps or not!

actually now that i think about your problem again, its probably a hardware problem. your video card could be damgaed, or some other hardware failure. but whatever it is it seems Wacko isnt going to reply back to his own thread, thats kinfd of annoying when you try to help someone and they wont even respond
