I have a Gigabyte motherboard 8IE533.
I had a Celeron at 1800 Mhz running on this motherboard for a year. No problems at all. Few days ago I got a P4 at 2,66Ghz and installed it.
Since then my system freezes, sometimes after boot (before BIOS info). Most of the times it proceeds and enters in XP. There is a chance for me to work for few horus, but usually it freezes after few minutes. I have formated and installed from zero the WinXP, got latest drivers, removed memory once a time (I have 2x256MB), changed the Graphics card (Crative MX420-Geforce4) with an older one (TNT2). But the problem is still there. It freezes. When I re-install the old 1800 Celeron everything goes back to normal...
I also installed the cpu in another system (with Gigabyte motherboard model 8ST800 rev1.0) and worked without problem for about 24 hours.
