GFORCE FX 5700 Ultra Problem

My machine looses video signal after being on for about 5 minutes (not playing games). If I turn the monitor off and then back on signal is not returned. Sometimes the machine reboots. This is really driving me nuts. I have to shut everything down to get it working again.

I have a Samsung 191T monitor, gForce 5700 FX Ultra card and Abit IC7-G motherboard.

I reinstalled the video card drivers , but I'm thinking I didn't uninstall them first.

I wondering if I need to upgrade the motherboard bios. I'm not a hardware person so I'm not sure how to properly go about determine what is wrong. I have access to another video card so I'll give that a try.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Your suggestion seems to have fixed my problem, at least it has remained up and running for move than 5 minutes.

Curiously, at boot time my computer does not display bios info. By the time anything is displayed the diagnostics are well into other tests.
