getting new vid card & drivers question

I was thinking of upgrading my ati 9200 to an ati 9600xt, but I was wondering since the catalyst drivers are packaged to work with all (?) the ati cards would I have to uninstall the old drivers or could I just pop in the new card and it would work?

uhh, i dont exactly get what u mean. the drivers are ALL the same for ALL the radeon family. so it should work if u got the 4.8 or 4.9

if u wana be shur, uninstall ur video card, take it out, put in the new one, then install latest drivers.

I guess I'm just being lazy, I just want to pop out the old 9200 and pop in the 9600 and expect it to work just fine.....but nothing ever goes that easily....lol

You don't have to reinstall the drivers for any of the Radeon series (7000+).
