I just removed my Windows XP Home SP2 with a Windows 2000 disc. I installed windows 2000, then used a "bootlegged" Windows XP Pro SP2 disc. However, when i restart the computer it asks to boot from windows 2000 pro, or windows xp pro

In other words...

does anybody know how to get rid of windows 2000 pro and get the computer to load to xp pro without having to reinstall and do all the updates, programs, settings, all over again??

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Matt

First check Disk Management, right click on My Computer and select manange, is there only one partition there?

If so there is probably just an entry left in your boot.ini file, go to Tools>Folder Options>View>File Types
then choose "show hidden folders"

Then go to your boot.ini file in your root directory and delete the Windows XP entry
