GeForce FX 5600, Dual Monitor not functioning

I recently acquired my adapter back for the DVI port on my GeForce 5600, and decided "Hey, why not TWO monitors. I can be cool". However, for whatever reason, it is not receiving any sort of input, and the computer doesn't even recognize that it exists.

Before you start, YES the monitor works, and YES the Adapter SHOULD be working, it worked with another computer only last week.

Any ideas on this? Is the card known to not use the DVI port when the VGA is already taken up?

Or am I retarded?

Right-click your desktop>properties>settings tab>click on the rectangle with the number 2 and check the box that says "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor"

No no no. I don't think I made myself clear then....

The monitor does not receive input, and Windows does NOT detect it. Even during POST it has nothing on it and receives nothing.

maybe your monitor connection has a broken pin or is just dead. I have a 5600 ultra and i ran it with dual monitors last week. Try plugging your first monitor into the other port.
