I upgraded to a geforce 6800 XT after the fan broke and fryed my old geforce 6600. Since using it my mouse cursor will randomly appear to be missing for maybe ten seconds although still functioning, and this happens a few times a day. I figured this was a driver problem, so I attempted to update my graphics drivers. When I try to install it, I get through the installation, reboot, and then get stuck on the windows XP loading screen, which it sits at for a few minutes, and then reboots before ever making into windows. It does this with both a dry installation or not. I've also redownloaded the drivers off NVIDIA's site and tried again with no luck either. I always have to revert back to the original drivers. And I'm 99% certain I have the correct updated drivers.
So is there anything else possibly responsible for this cursor problem?
And any idea what's up with the driver installation?
