If your a doom 3, far cry, world of warcraft fan then go with nvidia. If your a half-life fan then go with the ati. If your going for ati, my suggestion is go for the x800 xt, not the 9800, just for future proof.
Its only the X800XT that wins in Half Life 2. The 6800GT walks all over the X800 Pro and the 9800XT/Pro, and this is ATI's own game!

Do you have the benchmarks and links? PM them to me if you do.

I'm talking about the Half Life 2 benchmarks though.

Well, here are the benchmarks I'm talking about, and this isn't the only source for them, its just the first match I found on google. The 6800GT beats the X800 Pro by only a small margin, but my point is is that this is the game that is supposed to show the glory of ATI, and Nvidia is taking the crown with its 6800GT.

Seen it already.

If the 6800 GT does beat the X800 Pro in half life 2, then there are some serious problems with the X800 Pro.

I want to see how well a 6800nu does in HL2. I heard there were major improvements with the 6800 series over the FX in HL2

I used to think that it was just driver problems with the X800 Pro, but now I am beginning to think it is flawed hardware itself. I know if ATI releases crap like this with the R520, there won't be an ATI much longer. I know a lot of die hard ATI fans that are switching to Nvidia because the X800 Pro is such $#!+ and the X800XT P.E. is too darn expensive. Ah well, at least HL2 is playable with high AA and AF on the X800 Pro. The same couldn't be said about Doom 3.
