GeForce 4 Ti4600 problem

I have been having this problem for months. But now, with Knights Of the Old Republic. It's just unbearable.

What happens, is that randomly during any 3d game I play, the game will freeze, for about 20 - 60 seconds. Then resume where it left off. Usually it would happen every few minutes. But with KOTOR, it's every few SECONDS. I have tried the newest detonator drivers and the problem still exsists. I don't have any idea what the problem could be. The games run completely smooth otherwise. I have tried lowering graphical settings also, it doesn't help.
