I was given an old Gateway Solo 5300 lattop running Windows ME.
Unfortunately, it experiences a hard freeze about once every hour (on average). Everything locks up and my only option is to do a hard re-boot (physically turn it off and on again).
I've tried every software solution imaginable to no avail, and am becoming more and more convinced it's a hardware problem - maybe a static charge or something???
Any ideas/suggestions are more than welcome!
