Gaming system

My younger cousins come overtoo my house almost everyday. I have too watch them for like 2-6 hours aday. They usally have nothing todo at my house. So I was pricing components at tigerdirect too build a gaming system from computer parts. Basicly a computer too play games only and hook up too my bigscrean.

This is what I picked so far what do you think.

Obviously thats not a complete list. It totals so far $475.93

I want it too have a custom menu so my cousins would be able too put there favorite game in and it autostarts. I dont want the games to install on the hardrive. I just want it too put saves on the hardrive. I dont want my cousins too get too the desktop or anything of that sort cuase I dont want them to mess the system up. I also need it networked.

O and I forgot the type of games they play are UT the new one. Diablo, doom 1.9 (i play it too), rainbow six 3, halo the computer version (which is currently installed on my system slowing my computer i want it off) and a few other first persion shooters. I think CS too.

those are some of the worst parts ive ever seen. 40$ for a 2x burner?
how can you play games with 256mb of ram. 20gb/5400 hard drive 45$? those prices suck. You cant play games without having to install them first, this isnt a console. you cant even start games without getting to the desktop. Why tigerdirect?

your cousins could play those games on that system but not well or at all.

I really dont think I woud need like 1 GB ram if all the computer is gonna run is some games. Tigerdirect is cuase I have alot of experience with them. I also want too buy from one place. I could add a second hdd for playing the games off of. Then the other could be for the OS and game saves. I have been setting some money aside for it. So i dont got money tood blow. Right now I have $240 soon Ill have $440 and by summer ill have $600+. So if anyone can recommend parts or help me decide all the parts for the whole system.

I must admit, the best part you have listed is your proccesor, which is a Sempron, which are one of the worst gaming proccesors availible at the moment.

I will help you pick out a much better machine.

There are your basics, you can build around those with whatever you want and you should be fine.

The parts you have selected are either on their way out, or have long since been pushed aside. I'd say it would last a year tops.

The parts you picked are awsome. I guess ill buy those when I get enough $$.

Put more money into your hardware, and less into your case. Nearly 200 bucks is way too much money for a case.

Also, get around $600 or $700, then come back here and consult us, because newer, faster parts are always released, and by the time you have that kind of money, the parts I've listed may not be such a good choice anymore.

Well I do have $2000 that I can spend. I didnt want to say anything cuase I wasnt sure if I wanted too use it. Also I prolly wont need that hardrive. I have a computer system im gonna take the hardrive out and sell the computer. The harddrive is 120 GB segate 7200 RPM 8MB cache.

Ok, gimme a dollar amount you want to spend on this thing, and I will build the system for you, leaving out a hundred bucks or so for a case, fans etc.

Also, what do you want this PC to be capable of. You've given a good list of games, anything else this PC should be capable of doing?
