i have a NEC MultiSync E1100, it is excellent. it costs around US$230 new, and is 21", 1600X1200 max resolution. the dot pitch is .28 It is great for gaming, and there is tons of screen real estate. the screen is wider than my keaboard!!!!

btw some sites say max res. is 1280X1024, but mine runs at 1600X1200 @60Hz, there is no flicker.

If it is truly running at 60 hz, then maybe your eyes aren't as sensitive as some other people, because 60 hz is a headache waiting to happen for me at least (possibly many other techies).

- CRT's are less expensive
- CRT's generally have a lower dot pitch
- CRT's generally have a faster refresh rate
- LCD's have better quality images

I personally prefer CRT's although I do like LCD's
LCD's are improving, and are getting better refresh rates so I don't think it will be much of a problem in future.

a Sony Trinitron 21" for $155
