Alright, this is a problem that's really been getting my goat for quite a while, I stumbled across this forum page, the people seemed knowledgeable, and I decided to ask others. Let me start by detailing my pc quick:
Intel P4 3.0C
2x 512MB PC3200 Apacer DDR Ram
Asus P4C800 (Intel 875 Chipset)
BFG nVidia GeForce 6800GT OC 256MB Video Card
36GB SATA 10,000 RPM WD Raptor
160GB SATA 7,200 RPM WD HDD
560W Thermaltake P/S
Windows XP Pro w/ SP2
What the problem is, after I upgraded my video card (from an uber-powerful ATI 9200se 128MB) everytime I play a game (aside from Doom 3) the game will lock up...but keep running. Checking the error log in Windows reveals nothing. I've tried almost everything I can think of to fix this; including new drivers (video card, chipset, sound) reinstalling latest Direct X, patching all the games, turning settings way down, new p/s, and flashing the BIOS.
If anyone can give me some help or just something new to try, that would be most appreciated. Also, sorry about the length of this post, it's my first....ever.
