a friend of mine told me that game makers are now creating games to run specifically with certain systems. is there any truth in this? i know that doom 3 runs best with nvidia boards.
heh... not quite so... look at it this way ... nvidia(and intel also) pays them shitloads of money to put their logo and the words "played best on" .. means nothing... as a developer.. would you really want to lose sales from creating games that run on certain machines?!.. dont get me wrong .. nvidia kicks major ass and it probably DOES play best on.. but not because it has a printed add on it saying so...
look at it this way .. how many times have you .. or anyone here seen "plays best on AMD" ?! i didnt .. thats because they dont have to advertise kick ass CPUs .. they just make em =D
Nvidia plays better on Doom 3 because they simply have the better technology, not because of a logo that they put on it. If fact, I don't remember seeing the "The Way It's Meant to be played" logo on Doom 3.
