Hi,

I'm working on a paper - the future of data storage

Who are the main players in data storage (all formats from zip disk to usb key ring devices)

What do you think the future of data storage is in the next 10 yrs?

Any links on where to do tech research like this much appreciated...

and so I'm giving something to the forum:

i heard from someone on this forum or somewhere that i think iomega will try to create a hard drive the size of a sugar cube with the capacity of a terrabyte. OMG thats crazy

I'm waiting for the biological material based memory systems (like a brain, but man-made). Like the ship's gel-packs on Star Trek.

Wonder if I'll be around to see that happen?

i think usb keys are the future data storage

USB key with 120 Gig !!! space -p

yeh ive heard that too, they use diamond (i think) and it stores data 3 dimensionally to increase the capacity, it writes with 2 extremely small lasers (1 from side and 1 from front) and where they intercept it writes into it. they're having trouble making it re-writable
