Probaly a bit of both really but yeah thats true about some old things. As they say, the olds things are always better and well made to last for a longt ime. Todays stuff breaks after a year.

How about a list of processors that we've all used in our main machines... for a flashback to the old tech stuff.

Computers I did *not* build:

Intel 8088 Processor...
< a few others in between I don't recall>
Texas Instruments 486 SLC 25MHz processor (no math coprocessor)
Intel Pentium 150MHz

Computers I did build:
My computers....
Intel Pentium 133MHz
Intel Pentium 200MMX
Intel Celeron 266 @ 400MHz
Intel Pentium III 700E Coppermine
Intel Pentium 4 3.06GHz Northwood
AMD Opteron 246 (2.0GHz)
Intel Pentium 4 630 (3.0GHz)

My dad/brothers computers:
AMD K6-2 333MHz (built on top of a Pentium 150MHz Acer system... the K6-2 was plugged in via the PCI Bus! If anyone remembers these things, I'd be surprised)
AMD K6-3 500MHz
Intel Pentium III 500MHz
Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz Prescott

Lets see your list of old/current processors?

P2 MMX 233Mhz
Athlon XP 2400
and now 3.2Ghz Intel P4 w/ 1MB L2

oh yeah and my dad found an old 20Mhz CPU at council clean up.
