most people agree that XP is a big memory hog, and some pentium 4/celeron's cant even handle it...

it depends mostly on how the pc is set up. i had my pentium 2 running brilliantly on xp, in fact it outstripped my friends PIII. i even have a p-166 (overclocked) running xp at an acceptable speed

still, i cant believe that dell thought a pentium 3 could handle XP though.

That was from an optiplex though, i know the dell dimensions cant handle anything.

uh.. at my school we have dell labtops with a p3 and 256mb of ram, and they run xp...not very fast but it can do word processing and internet surfing.

My school has pentium 3's, with 512 MB Ram, and they're slow.

That sticker is probably saying that the system as a whole was built for XP.

Because there was XP 2002, and then Service Pack 1 and 2 after that.

my grandmas computer is a 750MHz duron with 384mb of PC133 RAM running WinXP

That's with SP2 as well.

My dads 2GHz intel celeron is also running it and he only has 256mb of RAM, also SP2. Runs it just fine for their needs

I used to run a PIII 450mhz on a computer with XP Pro and it worked pretty well, not as fast as modern P4s though.

No moden celeron or any pentium 4 cannot run XP perfectly. You're just joining the bs boat.

P3 systems with enough ram also don't have a problem.
