Found a AMD K6-2 550!

I found this old CPU in the cupboard...dont even know how it got there. It's an old AMD K6-2 550Mhz and its got some bent pins. If I just fix the pins can I use it? I think it needs a socket 7 motherboard, is that right? Might be able to get one on ebay for $5

yeah if you can actually straighten those pins out without breaking them you shouldn't have a problem. Not sure which socket it fits into though, those chips were made before I knew anything about computers I only know about K7 and up now lol

i have one of those. Yea it takes a socket 7 and its fsb should be like 133 or something. Kinda sux but the cool thing about is it has 512k of cache.

lol that's why I haven't sent major a 566MHz CPU and motherboard I have sitting here. God knows how long it'll take to get over there, IF it'll survive the trip and the price tag
