First time building - does this mobo have video card built in?

I want to know if this motherboard has a built-in video card for my monitor. (ie. I will not need a video card).

I don't think it does, but even if it did, I would suggest you look to a AGP or PCIe card, most onboard video cards suck, and they steal your memory as well. If you have a 64mb intergrated graphics card and 512mb memory, that 512mb becomes 446mb.

What do you want to do with PC in terms of graphics?

Yeah your gonna need a video card.

Depending on your budget it should go something like this.

High Budget - Radeon x800xt, Nvidia 6800gt = $400-500
Mid Budget - Radeon 9800xt, Nvidia 6600gt = $200-300
Low Budget - Radeon 9600xt = $100+

Basically, I'm not gaming. Just need something to connect my monitor (view dvds, edit video maybe). TV Tuner would be nice...
but nothing fancy. would you guys still recommend video card?

I'd recommend the 9600 Pro for your needs, it's a nice little card that still performs pretty well, but it pretty cheap. For a bit more money you can get a 9600xt all in wonder, which will have better performace, plus TV Tuner and a whack of other accesories/features.

When you say Radeon - is that the manufacturer or is it a type of card? Because there seems to be ATI Radeon, Saphire ATI Radeon, Asus ATI Radeon, etc.... Which brand should I go with?

They are all the same card basically, they are just manufactered by different companies. ATi is probably the best, but saphire and Asus will be cheapers and should perform about the same.

Radeon is the type of card. The names in front of Radeon are the different companies that make variations of that particular card.

Most brands are safe to go with. I would go with a Sapphire, idk why though.
