First Boot...is it working?

No, just put the XP CD in as the computer is turning on, and when it asks you to press any key to boot off of the cd, do so.
 
Probably your 80GB. Then use your 200GB for storing everything else. This will give you a little boost in performance.
 
i built mine 2-3 weeks ago and i was worried at first but now i look back on it and i realize how easy it was.... kinda lol i just had to move a few things around (jumpers etc.)

If the drives are on seperate channels

They are, one is SATA, and the other is PATA.

i'm using my 80GB and installing XP Pro on a 5 GB partition. Is this enough space?
Ya, just dont install any other programs, etc in that partition. Leave the rest of the room for patches/service packs.
