Firewire Gone in Netqork Connections

Lately, when ive plugged my camera into my comp using firewire (vid camera to, by the way) the camera does not get detected. I tried and tried and i eventually got the computer to detect. Now though, it doesn't show the 1394 connection in "Network Connections". Anyone with any ideas, please help

i didnt think 1394 is a network connection figured it was a normal Device with removable storage......

when the camera is connected you can see the camera in my computer. But im talking about the 1394 device in network connections
