Default Firewire A and Firewire B?

I see all the new boards only have 1394b... will that work with A devices? I read on Asus' website that you can only have one driver loaded at a time. Which is fine since I don't use and 1394b devices. Would that work out? What about the plugs?

I believe the are refering to firewire 800 and firewire 400. If i remeber correctly, firewire 800 is backwards compaitiable w/ firewire 400.
