Is there a difference in data-transfer rates between a 4-pin firewire port and a 6-pin firewire port? If so, what is it?

Also, does anyone know of if there is a difference in data-tranfer rates between an onboard firewire ports and a firewire ports via a PCMCIA card?

Oh yeah, does anyone know of a Windows based laptop that has a 6-pin firewire port built in (I can only find laptops with 4-pin ports... well besides a Mac...)

It seems that they are just different sizes...

6-pin and 4-pin are both FW400, which is pretty slow compared to USB 2.0.

FW800 is 9-pins ... I dont know.

4 pin has no power to power device. firewire is 400mbps and usb 2.0 is 480.

usb is faster for transferring music, firewire run circles around usb for video
